Water Treatment

The majority of New Zealand’s potable water comes from streams and rivers or underground aquifers. This water needs to be purified and disinfected before it is safe to drink. Water treatment covers the monitoring, treatment and supply of drinking water, from the source to the tap.

Our existing Water Treatment qualifications have been replaced with new qualifications as a result of the NZQA Targeted Review of Qualifications.  The new training programmes are expected to be available in early 2018.

If you would like any further information on the changes to the Water Treatment programmes, please contact Annie Yeates, Water Industry Training Manager, email: anniey@connexis.org.nz or call 027 4400 129.
